Henry County is located on the Northwestern border and the home of Kentucky Lake with over 32,000 residents that call it home. The cities include Paris, Henry, Puryear, Cottage Grove and Mansfield. Paris Landing State Park was created in 1945 and Paris was known as the “Capital City of Kentucky Lake” with tourism being an stronghold in the area’s economy. “The World’s Biggest Fish Fry” attracts tens of thousands of visitors the last full week in April. The most famous performer from the area is country music legend, Hank Williams, Jr. who still owns a home in Paris. The Paris Landing State Park is an 841 acre park located on the western shore of the Tennessee River and is dammed to form Kentucky Lake which is 160,000 acres. The park resides on the widest part of the lake making it the ideal location for all water sports such as fishing, boating, swimming and waterskiing. Additionally the park includes a challenging 18 hole golf course. The Paris Landing State Park now boasts a newly built inn, restaurant and conference center. The $26 million dollar facility is expected to generate approximately 35 percent more annually in sales and occupancy than the previous, dated facilities.
